School Sports Fields Hit by Severe Flooding in Queensland

Tens of thousands were advised to evacuate their homes as Cyclone Ita swept along coastal towns by the Great Barrier Reef on Friday, April 11 and Saturday April 12. The storm reportedly made landfall at Cape Flattery in northern Queensland on Friday with winds of up to 143mph. Ita was downgraded to a Category 1 storm shortly after, but authorities warned it would cause flash flooding and further damage.
