A line of severe storms hit the New York Tri-state area on Tuesday, July 8, with powerful gusts of wind that knocked down trees and power lines. Three people were reported dead after three homes collapsed in Peterboro, Madison County. Severe storm warnings remained in place until midnight on July 8. A state of emergency was declared in East Syracuse as a result of significant damage caused by the storm.
