In his latest bout of bizarre behaviour, US actor Shia LaBeouf wore a paper bag over his head on the red carpet at the Berlin Film Festival, bearing the words: “I am not famous anymore”.

His antics were not a total surprise.

Promoting Lars von Trier’s new film “Nymphomaniac” and looking unkempt, he had earlier walked out of a press conference, quoting footballer Eric Cantona’s enigmatic lines.

“When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea,” he told reporters.

A director’s cut of the first volume of the sexually-explicit film was premiered at the festival, out of competition.

“Nymphomaniac” tells the story of a sex-addicted woman on an odyssey of self-discovery that explores love, death and loneliness.
