Soccer Fans Evacuated From Stade De France Following Paris Attacks

French police said scores of people were killed and many injured after multiple attacks involving gunfire and explosions in Paris on Friday, November 13. Up to 100 were reportedly killed at the Bataclan concert venue, where US rock band Eagles of Death Metal were playing.

French media initially reported a shooting at a Cambodian restaurant in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, as well as incidents close to the Stade de France sports stadium. Two explosions were heard close to the stadium, according to Reuters. Another incident was reported at the Les Halles shopping center.

French President François Hollande made a statement on national TV shortly after, and announced he was closing France’s borders and declaring a state of emergency.
