South Korean Man Smashes Mercedes After Car Had Engine Problems

A South Korean has taken out his frustrations on his expensive Mercedes Benz after getting fed up with what he saw as poor customer service from a local car dealership. Yu Je-Ha said he bought the S63 AMG from a dealership in the city of Gwangju in March for around $500,000 (£325,000). Soon afterwards, it started having engine problems but, despite being serviced several times, it was not fixed. Yu says he got nowhere with his requests for an exchange or a refund. So on 11 September, he took his protest to the dealership - parking the German luxury sedan outside and thrashing it with a golf club. According to local police, the Mercedes Benz dealership filed a complaint against the angry motorist the following day for obstruction of work but the charge was later dropped. Yu and the dealership - Shin Sung Motors - are now in negotiations, according to a spokesman at the company.
