Speculation over Schumacher’s medical condition angers family and manager

Speculation over the medical condition of Michael Schumacher has angered the family and manager of the ex-Formula One champion. Manager Sabine Kehm said that he remains “critical but stable” in hospital after a skiing accident, sharply dismissing reports that he was out of the woods. She also urged people to focus exclusively on statements from doctors or his management team. Schumacher’s friend and former Formula One driver Philippe Streiff was reported on Friday to have said that his life is no longer in danger. He allegedly received the information from the family doctor. Schumacher was in the French alpine resort of Meribel when he hit his head on a rock whilst skiing off-piste. A helmet camera he was wearing at the time has been handed over to be examined. His teenage son, also with him at the time of the accident, has also been interviewed by police. For now, the seven-time Formula One world champion remains in an induced coma in a Grenoble hospital.
