Stranded Dolphin Rescued South of Perth

Two stranded dolphins were rescued by a team of rangers and volunteers on Tuesday, March 24, after they became stranded in shallow waters in Mandurah, around 70 kilometres (43 miles) south of Perth. A team of ten people were required to lift the animals which weighted up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds) and measured 2.5 metres (8 feet) long, according to reports.

The dolphins were loaded onto a trailer and transported to the nearby Serpentine River, where they were released back into the water. Credit: YouTube/Parks and Wildlife WA
