Swedish Authorities Battle Massive Forest Fire


Sweden declared a national emergency as a massive forest fire continued to rage on August 4 after six days, engulfing much of the country’s central region. One man reportedly died in the fire. The large town of Norberg braced for evacuation, as authorities described the fire as “the largest in modern history”. One thousand people had already been evacuated from rural areas.
