Tampa Zoo Names Endangered Clouded Leopard Mowgli

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo’s clouded leopard cub, born on March 7, now has a name, according a statement by the zoo. Mowgli, named after the main character in “The Jungle Book,” can be visited by the public at his 10am ET feedings. Mowglie was born under the Clouded Leopard Species Survival Plan, a conservation program of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

For now, the zoo’s veterinary hospital will remain Mowgli’s primary home, but he will rotate through different environments at the park. Credit: Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo
