Task Force Releases Report on Improving Policing

US President Barack Obama reacted to the report from the 21st Century Policing Task Force on March 2. The task force, which included a number of law enforcement officials, has worked for three months to create a report aimed at improving the law enforcement system.

The issues outlined in the report include building trust between communities and the police, generating more data, improving community policing and increasing training, Obama said. Some controversial proposals include calling for independent probes when a police officer kills someone, the president said.
