Tasmanian Fishermen Catch 263kg Swordfish After Six-Hour Battle

Two Tasmanian fishermen caught a 263kg (580lb) swordfish after a six-hour battle during a fishing competition at Coles Bay on Saturday, March 21. Leo Miller and Kyle Longmore are hoping their catch will break the world record for the biggest swordfish caught by amateurs in Australian waters. The fishermen were alerted to the swordfish’s presence after they saw it jumping out of the water jumping, according to reports. Credit: Facebook/Team Choonachasa
