Thick Ash Cloud Surrounds Mount Aso After Eruption

Japan’s Aso volcano erupted on Monday morning, September 14, sending a cloud of volcanic ash and steam over its crater in Kumamoto Prefecture. The thick ash fell on several municipalities in the prefecture and also caused flight cancellations and delays at Kumamoto Airport.
