Third Chile Volcano Eruption Milder, but Still Forces Evacuation

The Calbuco volcano, in Chile’s rugged south, erupted Thursday, April 30, for the third time in two weeks, sending ash clouds, rocks and debris at least two miles in the air. This eruption was milder than last week’s blowouts, which disrupted air traffic as far away as Buenos Aires, Argentina. But this blast was strong enough to again force evacuations.
