Thousands Attend Anti-Corruption Marches in Pretoria and Cape Town

Thousands attended anti-corruption marches in South Africa on Wednesday, September 30, braving the rain in Cape Town and hot weather in Pretoria, according to reports. The protests were organised by Unite Against Corruption, who say corruption cost South Africa R700 billion (about $51 billion) in the last 20 years, citing a 2015 report from the Institute for Accountability. South Africa’s ruling ANC party has been in power thorughout that time.
