Thousands Mark Anniversary of Yemen Revolution

Thousands of people took part in rallies across Yemen on February 11 to reject a recent government takeover by the Houthi rebel group, and to mark the fourth anniversary of the country’s uprising in February 2011 which saw the toppling of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Houthi rebels, who follow a branch of Shia Islam known as Zaidism, forced the resignation of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah on January 22 following the group’s takeover of the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
