Thousands Rally in Istanbul After Suruc Bombing

Thousands marched through Istiklal Avenue in central Istanbul a few hours after an explosion killed at least 30 people in the Turkish-Syrian border town of Suruc on Monday, July 20. According to one reporter at the protest, speakers were condemning “AKP complicity” in the attack, suspected to have been carried out by Islamic State. Police later broke up the protest using tear gas and water cannons, according to Turkish news sources. Credit: Instagram/erbilkutlu
