Thousands of Spider Crabs Create Moving Pyramid

Around this time every year in the Port Phillip Bay in Southern Victoria, spider crabs migrate as the water temperature in the bay drops. This isn’t any migration, however, as the crabs pile on top of each other to create a moving mound of claw and shell. This incredible footage, taken by a local scuba diver, shows over a thousand spider crabs forming into a pyramid as they move through the bay. Credit: YouTube/Pink Tank Scuba
