US Marine UH-1Y Huey Helicopters Fly Nepal Relief Mission

The US Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron has been flying relief missions to Khopachagu, Nepal, in the eastern part of the country. The squadron flies UH-1Y Huey helicopters; the one in this video, HMLA-469, nicknamed Vengeance, has flown 54 flight hours, delivering 68,307 pounds of supplies since a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck on April 25. This video was posted May 12, the same day another quake hit the country.

On May 12, a Huey UH-1Y Marine Corps helicopter went missing in central Nepal; six US Marines and two Nepalese soldiers were aboard. The search for the missing helicopter has been called off for the night, according to officials. Credit: Okinawa Marine
