UN Says Up to 61 Percent of Yemeni Population Are in Need of Aid

Amid escalating conflict in Yemen, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reports that up to 61 percent of the country’s population is now in need of some form of humanitarian aid.

According to the organization, Yemen is the poorest country in the Arab world and already faces widespread food insecurity and malnutrition.
