UNHCR Stresses Scale of Mediterranean Migrant Crisis

A new video from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) aims to clarify the scale of the migrant crisis in Europe, as the numbers of people traveling across the Mediterranean, from countries such as Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Nigeria, continue to climb.

To the end of June 2015, both Italy and Greece have seen the arrival of more than 65,000 migrants. In 2010, a total of 9,170 migrants were recorded to have arrived by sea. In 2014, the number reached 219,000. Credit: YouTube/UNHCR
