UNRWA: Bombing of UN Shelter a 'Serious Violation of International Law'

Storyful

The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) on July 31 condemned “in the strongest possible terms” the shelling on July 30 of a UN school in Gaza by Israel. The school in Jabaliya was being used as a shelter by more than 3,300 civilians, who had been warned to leave their homes by Israel – 16 of them were killed in the attack. UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl condemned the attack and called it “a serious violation of international law”. Credit: YouTube/UNRWA
