US Navy’s X-47B Becomes First Unmanned Aircraft Refuelled Inflight

An unmanned US Navy X-47B aircraft was successfully refuelled mid-flight on April 22 during a test flight in the Atlantic Test Ranges over the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The X-47B received over 4,000 pounds of fuel from a Omega K-707 tanker aircraft in the first ever autonomous aerial refuelling (AAR) of an unmanned aircraft.
