Vettel claims fourth World Championship title with victory from pole position in Indian Grand Prix

Germany’s Sebastian Vettel has won his fourth World Championship Formula One title – the youngest driver to do so. The twenty-six-year old took the chequered flag in the Indian Grand Prix from pole position.

“I am overwhelmed, I don’t know what to say but it is the best day of my life so far. Maybe in 10 years time I will look back and realise the enormity.” he said immediately after creating motor racing history.

It marked a host of stunning victories for the Red Bull driver. It was his sixth successive win and tenth this season. It completed a hat-trick of successes on the track in India. No other driver has won since the race made its debut in 2011.

The classification means Red Bull also took the constructors title for the fourth year in a row.

Vettel is only the third driver to win four titles in a row after compatriot Michael Schumacher and the late Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio.
