Video Captures 'Hoverboard' Scooter on Fire

Safety concerns over “hoverboard” scooters, one of this year’s most popular Christmas gifts, have been raised after an Alabama man shared a video of his after it caught fire. Gulf Shores resident Timothy Cade claims that the product, which does not actually hover, exploded under his feet just three days after he purchased it from a seller on Amazon.

“I walked out my door, turned hoverboard on, rode a few feet and the first explosion happened kind of threw me off tha board, but caught myself before I hit ground,” Cade told Storyful in an email.

This footage, shared by Cade on Facebook and YouTube on November 27, does not show the moment that the toy caught fire.
