Warnings in Place as Okanogan Fires Spread

A red-flag warning was issued by the National Weather Service for the Okanogan complex of fires on August 27, with winds predicted to help the spread of flames. saying the weather conditions had the potential to spread the flames. “The heat coming back on us early is going to be a problem,” Rick Isaacson, a fire information officer, told the Seattle Times. By Thursday, the fire had grown to 450 square miles.
