Widepread Evacuations as Wildfires Rage Across Northern Spain

More than 1,300 people from five villages were evacuated as wildfires raged through Spain’s northeastern region on Sunday, July 5. According to reports, the fires have burnt over 8,000 hectares of woodland since they began on Saturday afternoon, with more than 500 fire personnel and 26 aircraft battling the blazes.
