Yazidi and Syrian Refugees Tell UNHCR Their Stories

In the Midyat refugee camp in Turkey, roughly 55 miles (90km) from Syria, Yazidi refugees from Iraq’s Mount Sinjar and others escaping Syria are housed in separate areas. In this UN Refugee Agency video, a Yazidi family describes the two weeks they spent on the mountain, under siege from Islamic State militants, before Kurdish forces freed them. Mohammad, from Syria, fondly recalls his former life, before conflict drove him and his family out. Credit: YouTube/United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
