New York City Parade Celebrates US Women's World Cup Victory

The US Women’s National Team celebrated its World Cup victory on July 10 with a parade through New York City’s Canyon of Heroes. Thousands of fans lined the streets in lower Manhattan along the route to City Hall, where a rally was held. In addition to the team, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio rode on the floats in the parade.

The team won its third World Cup on July 5 with a 5-2 victory over Japan. In addition to the parade, a rally was held earlier in the week in Los Angeles when the team arrived from Canada.
