Now that Mini has released more details on the all-wheel-drive 2025 Countryman S, we have an idea what's under the hood as well as how much the entry-level model costs.
The 2025 Mini Countryman S All4 is the gas-fed version of the new generation, which also includes an EV and a hi-po JCW variant.
Feeding the Countryman S's all-wheel-drive system is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 241 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Since it basically shares a powertrain with the BMW X1, we think it might have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It's possible that Mini might introduce a front-wheel-drive version of the Countryman S, but that remains to be seen.
Along with a possible FWD configuration, we'll have to wait to find out if Mini will add a less powerful non-S model.
Mini has designed its new Countryman family to all look a lot alike, inside and out.
For those who need to tow, the Countryman S All4 is rated to tug up to 3500 pounds.
Inside, the new Countryman has a modern take on its quirkiness, and that includes a circular 9.4-inch touchscreen.
While the all-wheel-drive Countryman S is cheaper than the JCW or EV, its $39,895 starting price is notably higher than its predecessor.
Starting in the spring of next year, the gas-powered versions of the Mini Countryman will go on sale.
