Viewers hail McDonald's Christmas advert as better than John Lewis's
The internet is awash with people hailing the new McDonald's Christmas advert as "better than John Lewis's."
The Christmas offering from the fast-food chain melted hearts with its #ReindeerReady ad, threatening to steal the crown from John Lewis.
The 90-second advert shows Santa and his reindeer soaring through the sky from house to house, only to find that no one has left any treats out for Rudolph and co.
Exhausted and hungry, Santa finally spots a 24-hour McDonald's and buys - what else - bags and bags of carrot sticks for his trusty reindeers.
The ad was highly praised on Twitter, with one user declaring "best Christmas advert by far."

Dare I say @McDonalds Christmas advert has moved me more than this years @jlandpcustserv - giving carrots to his reindeers! What’s not to love! #simple #kind

Others were quick to compare it to the efforts of John Lewis, which released its highly-anticipated Christmas advert last week featuring Sir Elton John.
"There's something not right when McDonald's Christmas advert is more Christmassy than John Lewis' #ReindeerReady," wrote one user.
I have to say the McDonalds christmas advert is by far my favourite! That poor reindeers little face is way more emotional than some Elton John montage! Reminds me of my little Ozzy. Nailed it! 🦌👏🏻😍 #ReindeerReady

The McDonald's Christmas advert is the latest addition to an already eclectic mix of festive adverts, including Sainsbury's adorable school play ad and Iceland's one raising awareness of palm oil, which was banned for being "too political."
