Viewers were left heartbroken after First Dates favourite dies
First Dates fans were left in tears after hearing the news.
This week’s show was arguably its saddest ever, when audiences learned one of its featured daters, 72-year-old Norman, had passed away since the episode was filmed.
On the show he hit it off with Margaret, who, it was revealed, hadn’t been on a date in 40 years.
As the show concluded fans of the couple learned that the pair had embarked on a number of dates since the show was recorded, and things appeared to be blossoming into something more.
However, it was then sadly made known that Norman had since passed away.
Naturally, viewers were left shocked and expressed their sadness on Twitter.
At least he found happiness again before he died…unlike the superficial younger daters! Rip Norman.Xx #FirstDates

People were glad Channel 4 aired the encounter, but still found it hard to deal with.
Good on channel 4 for showing us Margaret and Norman's story. Live life to the full. RIP Norman. #FirstDates

First Dates paid a sweet tribute to the man at the end of the programme and on Twitter, too.
The tribute read: ‘After going on several dates, Norman took Margaret to a Masonic ladies night.
Norman’s motto was to live life to the full. At 72, Norman’s love for life took him to Greece where he sadly passed away surrounded by the family he adored.’
