Viewers outraged at Seann Walsh's drunk joke on 'It Takes Two'

Ousted Strictly couple Seann Walsh and Katya Jones made their final appearance on Strictly’s talk show ‘It Takes Two’ on Monday night. And it seems like comedian Walsh couldn’t help but make one final poorly timed joke.

Host Zoe Ball played them back their ill-fated Viennese waltz to the tune of ‘I Put a Spell on You’ that put them in the bottom two.

“It’s like watching a drunk video from the night before,” Walsh told Ball.

Naturally this wasn’t the best response considering he was infamously caught snogging married dance partner Jones and split up with his longterm girlfriend Rebecca Humphries over the scandal.

Viewers took to Twitter to express their outrage at the insensitive comment.

One user wrote ‘the whole country aren’t buying’ his jokes, while another remarked ‘It’s like having to watch a drunk video of yourself from the night before” I think you’ve already had to do that recently too Seann.’

Walsh’s awkward attempt at humour comes just a day after his dance partner Jones was slammed for making light of their kissing scandal on twitter.

She tweeted following their elimination that she bet people couldn’t wait for his next comedy tour and that ‘you now have soooo much material for it.’

Of course this rather insensitive tweet didn’t go down well with Strictly fans and led to an outpouring of outrage on the social media site.

One viewer wrote ‘What? Making fun of ruining people’s lives?? His girlfriend your lovely Neil Why is that funny’ while another responded with, ‘Yeah I’m sure his ex finds it hilarious. Crass and nasty.’

Walsh also admitted during ‘It Takes Two’ that he was ‘angry’ over his elimination as he felt the concept of the dance was ‘amazing’ and didn’t like getting the boot while in costume.

“The concept was amazing… That was the most angry I’d been afterwards because I knew this… I started saying, ‘We’ve got this.'”

“Then I had to be eliminated looking like a man who had fallen through a chimney!” Walsh said.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday at 19.05pm.
