The Ukrainian flag was raised in the village of Chkalovske in Ukraine’s Kharkiv Oblast in footage posted by the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on September 11.
Ukrainian armed forces said they had freed two thousand square kilometres in Kharkiv Oblast in recent days, including the liberation of districts in the cities of Izyum and Kupyansk.
The drone footage showed a soldier attaching the Ukrainian national flag to a radio tower, before panning to show the village and a group of soldiers below.
In his post Zelensky said: “Another freed settlement! Thanks to the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, the Ukrainian flag returned to Chkalovske, Kharkiv Oblast.”
“And it will be like that everywhere. We will expel the occupiers from every Ukrainian town and village. Thanks to all our heroes,” Zelensky wrote. Credit: Volodymyr Zelensky via Storyful
