Vin Diesel has unveiled a first look at his upcoming Bloodshot movie, and he's looking very badass indeed.

The adaptation will see the Fast & Furious actor play the Valiant Comics character, aka Raymond Garrison, a super-soldier who is brought back from the dead by a shady corporation.

Diesel shared a picture of himself in character, donning military gear and a pair of sunglasses, declaring: "Let the Valiant era begin… #Bloodshot2020."

In a separate post, he elaborated further: "Ray Garrison is a central character in the Valiant Comic Universe... And for me personally, one of the must complex characters I have been fortunate enough to play. Hope to make you proud… #BLOODSHOT."

The official synopsis for the movie was unveiled late last year, reading: "Ray Garrison aka Bloodshot, a deceased soldier resurrected by weapons contractor Rising Spirit Technologies through the use of nanotechnology.

"Suffering from total memory loss but imbued with an array of staggering new abilities, Ray struggles to reconnect with who he was while learning what sort of weapon he has become... aided by a team of fellow augmented combatants codenamed Chainsaw."

Diesel will be joined by Outlander's Sam Heughan, Guy Pearce and Baby Driver's Eiza Gonzalez in the movie, while Dave Wilson will direct the project.

Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) will executive produce alongside Dan Mintz (Iron Man 3).

Bloodshot is due to be released in 2020.
