Vinnie Jones sees a psychologist 3 times a week after wife Tanya's death

Vinnie Jones has three sessions a week with a psychologist following on from his wife Tanya's death last year.

The footballer-turned-actor shared that he was struggling when it came to important dates, including the first anniversary of Tanya's death back in July.

“I’m seeing someone three times a week," he told The Sun. "I thought I was doing OK, and then the anniversaries of Tans’s death and our daughter Kaley’s birthday were approaching and it was like somebody just drained the life out of me.

“It feels like you’re pushing a truck with no petrol from here to Manchester uphill on the M1.”

The pair were married for 25 years and shared son Aaron as well as Kaley, Tanya's daughter from her relationship with her first husband.

Tanya passed away in July 2019 at the age of 53 after "a long illness", a spokesperson confirmed at the time.

She was believed to have had multiple battles with cervical cancer and Jones, 62, revealed in 2013 that they had both been diagnosed with skin cancer, though he was later given the all-clear.

Jones also told the publication he has distanced himself from close friends while struggling with his grief but that he "doesn't know why".

“I watch a movie on TV but just stare through it, I’m not taking it in," he divulged.

Back in June, Jones marked their 26th wedding anniversary with an emotional post addressed to his late wife.

He's previously said he would not seek out a relationship with anyone else as he believes it's not what she would've wanted.

"She wouldn’t give me her blessing to meet someone else – I just know her. I can’t see it happening, I might have friends or whatever, I would be astonished if that happens," he said.
