Vinnie Jones has revealed that he will pay tribute to his late wife Tanya during his time on The X Factor: Celebrity.

Jones was welcomed to take part in the special version of the ITV talent show after he pulled out of the auditions following the death of his beloved wife.

After the judges – including Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger – chose who they wanted to send through to the live shows, Simon Cowell was seen calling the former footballer turned actor to tell him that there was a spot for him in the live shows if he wanted to take part.

Ahead of his debut on Saturday 25 October, Jones has revealed that he will sing Tanya’s favourite songs during his time on the show.

“There’s one song that I like, which I might be singing. It’s one that means a lot to us. I can see her now looking out the window of the car tapping along to it,” he told the Mirror.

“There are a lot of songs that mean a lot to us.”

Sharing details about the song he will sing during the first live show - reported to be ‘Everybody Needs Somebody To Love’ - Jones added: “I’ve got a song that I could get emotional to, but Tanya wouldn’t want me to crack up. It’s a ballad, an Irish song, it’s basically about me and her. So it’s a sad song.”

Addressing the possibility of winning the show and the prize money that comes with the coveted title, Jones revealed that he would give it all to charity.

In a posted on Twitter, he wrote: “I've decided any proceeds of a record contract from X-factor will go to Harefield hospital and Cedars Sinai. NOW i'm ready to Rock n Roll #CelebrityXFactor'.”
