Violent footage of Birmingham stabbing emerges online as police launch investigation

An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed during a street fight in Sparkhill. The man was attacked by three males in Percy Road just after 1pm on Thursday (Nov 7).

He was taken to hospital where his injuries are not said to be threatening. Police are probing the incident, meanwhile footage of the horror incident has emerged on social media.

In a video, the victim is engaged in a fist fight with a man in the middle of the road while cars drive around them, before another male comes and joins in. The three brawl on the street junction before a third man sprints across and is seen pulling a large knife out of his trouser waistband.

The group scuffle out of view of the camera and the victim is knocked to the ground. Other members of the public intervene. The clip then ends.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We're investigating after a man was stabbed in Percy Road, Springfield, at just after 1pm today (7 November). A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"We're reviewing CCTV and carrying out other enquiries to establish who was involved."
