VIP Child Abuse: New Police Corruption Claims

Three further claims of police corruption are being investigated where officers are accused of protecting VIP child abusers.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission confirmed they are now overseeing investigations into 17 allegations of police misconduct between the 1970s and 2000s.

The three latest allegations centre on suppressing evidence, hindering or halting investigations and covering up child abuse on behalf of MPs or celebrities.

One of the new claims alleges the Metropolitan Police in central London had gathered "evidence against MPs, judges, media entertainers, police, actors, clergy and others", the IPCC confirmed.

"The file was submitted to start proceedings against those identified and two months later an officer was called in by a senior MPS officer and told to drop the case."

Earlier this month the IPCC revealed they were dealing with 14 other claims of corruption which Scotland Yard had voluntarily passed on to the police watchdog.

They centred on various locations including a thwarted investigation at Dolphin Square, an apartment block next to the Thames where witnesses have alleged VIP sex parties took place involving vulnerable children in the 1970s and 80s.

The IPCC is also considering six further referrals from the Metropolitan Police relating to "similar matters".

The Met is currently investigating claims of child abuse networks in and around Westminster where prominent people abused vulnerable children - three claims of murder are also being investigated.
