The crowd of a Scottish pub was taken by surprise when two famous faces performed an impromptu Abba duet.

Dame Judi Dench and Texas lead singer Sharleen Spiteri took over the piano at the Fife Arms in Braemar to serenade unsuspecting punters in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

A 23-second video posted at 1.57am on New Years' Day shows Judi Dench playing the piano and singing a duet of Waterloo by Abba with Sharleen Spiteri.

The video was published on Twitter by Ewan Venters, the CEO of Artfam, and has since gone viral.

Ewan wrote: "Global exclusive - Dame Judi Dench gigs with Sharleen Spiteri at The Fife Arms, Braemar - future dates are in the planning.

"Watch this space, meantime, happy New Year!"

At the end of the video Spiteri can be heard exclaiming: "What a pianist."

The video has over 50 000 views.
