Virdee release date, cast and episode count for upcoming BBC crime thriller
Virdee will see a Game of Thrones star tracking down a serial killer but exactly when will the crime thriller be ready to watch?
Set in Bradford, West Yorkshire, the series follows Detective Harry Virdee (played by Starz Nair) who wants to reconnect with his Sikh family after they disowned him for marrying a Muslim woman.
As he deals with issues in his personal life, Virdee is also up against it at work as he investigates a serial killer targeting the Asian community in Bradford.
Virdee release date
Six-part drama Virdee is going to premiere on Monday, February 10, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with the remaining episodes coming out weekly in the same time slot.
However, all six episodes are going to be available on the streamer from February 10 if fans cannot wait six weeks to find out how it ends.

Virdee cast
Leading the cast as troubled Detective Harry Virdee is actor Staz Nair who will be remembered for playing Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) bodyguard Qhono in the iconic HBO drama Game of Thrones.
He has also featured in Rebel Moon: Part One: A Child of Fire, Humans, Supergirl, Humans and The Faceless Lady.
Virdee’s wife Saima is portrayed by actress Aysha Kala who will be recognised from her days in Criminal Record, Shameless and Indian Summers.
They are joined by Ridley actor Danyal Ismail and Waterloo Road’s Elizabeth Berrington as DS Amin and DS Clare Conway respectively, as well as Goodness Gracious Me star Kulvinder Ghir and EastEnders’ Meena actress Sudha Bhuchar as Virdee’s parents.
What to expect
As his young son begins to ask questions about his roots, Virdee decides it’s time to try and rebuild bridges with his family after they disowned him for marrying a Muslim woman.
He is also tasked with finding a serial killer who then kidnaps a local police chief’s son and so he must turn to his brother-in-law, the drug lord in charge of the largest cartel in the UK, for help.
But will his brother-in-law’s help really lead to finding the killer or is it going to cause more harm than good?
Virdee is based on the best-selling books by British-Asian author AA Dhand with the show’s theme tune created by international composer Hans Zimmer and film composer James Everingham.
Virdee premieres on Monday, February 10, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
