You Can Virtually Visit These Iconic Frank Lloyd Wright Sites

From House Beautiful

While Frank Lloyd Wright-designed public sites across the country are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn't mean you can't take in the work of one of history's most famous architects: You can now virtually visit many of Wright's buildings from home.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy has partnered with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to launch the social media initiative #WrightVirtualVisits, showcasing iconic Frank Lloyd Wright sites that have temporarily shut their doors. Every Thursday at 10 a.m., PST (noon EST), the participating sites will share a short video tour of a different site on social media. From Fallingwater in Pennsylvania to Unity Temple in Illinois, you can virtually visit and learn more about landmark Wright sites across the country.

“During this time when so many people feel disconnected from the world, we know that when people experience Frank Lloyd Wright designs, it brings them inspiration and happiness," Jeff Goodman, vice president of communication and partnerships at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, said in a statement. "We hope that taking a virtual visit to any of these Wright designs around the country will bring a little joy to their day and bring them into our community that remains connected around our shared passion for beauty, architecture, nature and design.”

Looking for a more interactive experiences of Wright's sites? The Foundation has also created a 3D virtual tour of Taliesin West, which was Wright's winter home. Located in the desert foothills Scottsdale, Arizona, Taliesin West is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Historic Landmark.
