'Vital' lifebelts stolen and set on fire at Lanarkshire lochs as police probe theft
A police probe has been launched after 10 "vital" lifebelts were stolen from and set on fire at Lanarkshire lochs.
The life-saving equipment was recently nicked from Lanark Loch. Meanwhile, lifebelts at Drumpellier Loch, in Coatbridge, were torched.
With water said to be at "freezing temperatures", the need for lifebelts is now more important than ever. North and South Lanarkshire council confirmed the incidents are being investigated by officers.
