VMAs 2016: Rihanna Banned Rita Ora From Coming Anywhere Near Her

Beyonce undeniably stole the show at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, but it has been reported that Rihanna was slightly concerned about somebody else stealing her thunder…

Yep, according to a mystery source the Bajan beauty banned Rita Ora from coming anywhere near her at last night’s event, telling MTV bosses to ensure that the former X Factor judge is kept away from her.

It looks like the feud between the two stars is definitely not over yet.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider explained: “Rihanna is receiving the Video Vanguard Award and she wants the evening to be all about her.

"She isn’t going to let anything, or anyone, upstage her. She has never liked Rita and put a call into MTV last week asking for her to be sat far away from her so she isn’t disturbed during the ceremony.”

Yikes. Although we can’t help but think that if RiRi was serious about not being upstaged by anyone then she probably should have had a quiet word about Beyonce too.

Last summer it was reported that 28-year-old Rihanna was furious with Rita because the Brit was recording a song with Ri’s ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Rihanna felt that it was a sign of disrespect, with a source saying at the time: “There is no love lost between them, but this is another example of what Rihanna perceives to be a lack of respect by Rita.

"Chris and Rihanna have a long history and she hit the roof when she heard about ‘Body On Me’ - especially the video.”

Thankfully last night appeared to go down without a Rihanna vs. Rita style hitch, suggesting that MTV bosses took the star’s request very seriously…
