The Voice Kids' fifth series has sadly already come to an end after just three episodes spread out as many nights, but it does mean that we didn't have to wait ages to find out our winner.

14-year old Torrin Cuthill from Oxfordshire was named the champion after her group's performance of 'Proud Mary' in the Battle Round, and her solo performance of 'Auld Lang Syne' in the Grand Final.

Torrin was mentored by Spice Girl Melanie C in the competition, and the 'I Turn to You' hitmaker had nothing but nice things to say about the young singer.

"Torrin for me was an instant chair turner," Melanie said. "She just has this incredibly unique quality about her, in her voice and then getting to know her personality as well she’s very, very special. She’s really unique.

"I always talk about wanting to be touched, wanting to feel a connection and emotion when somebody performs and she has that more than most... She’s a singer/songwriter, she has that quality but the riffs are so soulful. She has like a Celtic feel and then these soulful riffs. It’s like nothing I’ve ever heard."

Melanie admitted that she wasn't sure if the audience would vote for Torrin as she was a bit different compared to the other singers, but felt "the most incredible feeling" when they did.

Melanie went all Mystic Mel and predicted big things in Torrin's future, stating: "I think if she continues on this path; she’s so passionate, she’s so dedicated that I just think there’s no stopping her. I do believe she could become one of the greats of our time. She’s got that potential. She’s so talented."

No pressure, then!
