Mo Adeniran has been crowned the winner of The Voice 2017, beating Into The Ark into second place.

The 21-year-old hotel worker received the most public votes during Sunday night’s live final, impressing with his emotional rendition of Unsteady by X Ambassadors.

Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale gave the wannabe star a standing ovation following his performance, with the US singer openly weeping as she took to her feet.

Sir Tom’s act, Into The Ark, also had the judges on their feet as they sang Not a One by The Young Wild.

Third finalist, Jamie Miller, was eliminated earlier in the show after the first round of voting was frozen just half an hour in.

Michelle John lost her place on the ITV talent contest during Saturday night’s live show after performing Prince's Purple Rain and the Chaka Khan’s classic Feel for You.

Speaking after the results were announced, John said: "Thank you everybody, it’s been amazing and I'm just so proud of myself. I've overcome so many things to be here."

She added: ”I might not have won but I’m a winner.”

The show opened with a George Michael tribute when all four coaches took to the stage to perform ‘Freedom’.

Adeniran will now release Unsteady as his first single, having won a recording contract with Polydor Records.
