Country pop band Remember Monday decided to perform their own original track during tonight's (March 23) Knockout Round on The Voice UK.

Consisting of a trio of women, Remember Monday were in Jennifer Hudson's team. Although they were previously warned that the crowd might not get behind a song they're unfamiliar with, the girls took the plunge anyway and introduced the studio (and the nation) to their track 'Jailbreaker'.

Performed with verve and some stage direction, the guitar-led band enlivened the social media scene tonight as many fans took to Twitter to share their enthusiasm for Remember Monday's originality.

Check out the tweets below celebrating the band's courage and talent.

Although the online reaction was strongly in their favour, Remember Monday's stage exploits couldn't save them from the chop tonight. JHud chose to send Nicole Dennis through to the semi-finals instead.

However, this might not be the end for the singer-songwriters, as this year The Voice UK has implemented a new option in the Knockout Round.

The 'Lifeline' option invites viewers to vote to save one of the unlucky castaways who were booted out of the competition during the Knockouts. The act with the most votes overturns the judge's decision and jumps back into contention.

If you're hoping to give your favourite a second chance, you have until 11:30pm tonight to vote on The Voice UK app.

The Voice UK returns next week (March 30) for the semi-finals on ITV at 8pm.
