The Voice UK is making a huge change to its rules for the 2019 series on ITV, but luckily it will have a very experienced panel of coaches to ride it all out.

ITV has unveiled the full line-up for the spinning chairs next series, and it will bring back everyone from series seven - coaches will.i.am, Olly Murs, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones as well as presenter Emma Willis.

Though the coaches might be the same, the talent is getting a significant shake-up because, for the very first time, The Voice UK will allow contestants to audition as trios rather than just solo and duos.

"Bringing in the trio element will present a new sound that could shake everything up," Sir Tom Jones promised. "We'll have to see of course, but whether it's a solo singer, a duo or a trio, I'm hoping to find someone with that special spark.

"I'm so proud and excited about my winner, Ruti, who is in the studio doing some very impressive work, she's developing into a true artist and I can't wait for you all to hear her."

The big announcement is probably welcome news for presenter Emma Willis, since it was confirmed last week Channel 5 would be dropping her other show Big Brother after the current series.

"I'm so happy we're about to get going all over again," Emma said today. "I've learnt to expect the unexpected with performances, some make me wanna bust a move, some give me goosebumps, and some make me cry like a baby!

"No day is the same, I'm forever wondering 'where have YOU been?' and with trios signing up this year, it gives us an added layer."

The Voice UK begins filming its Blind Audition rounds next month, ahead of the new series premiere on ITV early next year.
