Tonight's (January 12) episode of The Voice UK had a few surprises in store for the judging panel.

Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, and Jennifer Hudson were all struck by 16-year-old Bukky Oronti's vocals – who chose to perform a soulful rendition of A Great Big World's 'Say Something' – but it was the fact that she was on her own that provided the biggest surprise for them.

As both Jennifer and spun their big red chairs around, they were left gobsmacked and admitted that they believed a number of singers were performing because of Bukky's incredible vocal range.

"I thought it was two people!" Jennifer said after she turned around, looking visibly shocked.

That's quite the compliment, and Bukky returned the favour by joining Jennifer's team.

The talented teenager was also popular on social media tonight, with a range of viewers posting their appreciation for her on Twitter.

Elsewhere during the show, Sir Tom's antics didn't go unnoticed by the folk of Twitter either.

Tonight he wowed the crowd and his fellow judges with another off-the-cuff performance following his moving duet with the son of his friend and former collaborator last week.

Viewers on Twitter were pretty impressed with Tom's powerful vocals, and it's pretty clear that the music legend has still got it.

As they say, class is permanent.

The Voice UK returns next Saturday (January 19) at 8pm on ITV.
