Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher 'sabotaged' their rival coaches on The Voice UK on Saturday night, with the McFly duo pulling out all the stops to ensure a contestant, dubbed one of 'the best ever' by viewers at home, ended up on their team.

After both Olly Murs and Anne-Marie were let go by ITV producers at the end of last year, there were two vacant spaces in the coaching line-up for 2024, with Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes replacing Anne-Marie and Danny and Tom making Voice history as the first ever judging double act.

The bandmates made their debut as the new series kicked off this weekend and were right at the centre of the action in the closing minutes of the opening episode as they and all of their colleagues, all turned for the last act of the night, a fantastic singer Billy. All four coaches were massively impressed and moved by Billy's audition, as he sang an original song in a bid to get them hitting their buttons.

A full house of spinning chairs meant that Billy had to decide between the four as to which Team he wanted to be on and, before their Voice co-stars could even begin to make their pitches, Danny, who won The Masked Singer earlier this year and Tom had a trick up their sleeve, with their 'Team Danny and Tom: The Musical' composition. They duo used the performance to set them apart from their rivals and not even a pitch perfect chorus of her smash hit How Do I Live was enough for LeAnn to sway Billy her way.

When Billy did the inevitable and picked Danny and Tom, Tom Jones quipped that there was no way he 'couldn't ' pick them as Danny and Tom joked they 'had no pitches left' and viewers at home were torn.
