Volkswagen driver dies in crash with tree on Chester village road
An 87-year-old driver has died following a collision with a tree on a Chester village road. The crash took place on Little Heath Road, Christleton, at around 4.38pm on Wednesday (November 6).
Officers at the scene found that a collision had occurred between a blue Volkswagen T-Cross and a tree. Police and paramedics treated the driver of the Volkswagen, an 87-year-old man from Frodsham, at the scene but sadly he died a short time later.
Police say his next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers are particularly keen to identify a man who was walking his dog and stopped at the scene to assist.

Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: "Enquires in relation to this collision are ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place. As part of our investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage or CCTV footage which may aid the investigation. Our officers are also keen to identify a male dog walker who arrived on the scene shortly after the collision took place and provided assistance to the casualty."
